our ethos
mixerrr is a multi-genre dance event series hosted by rhubarb & friends. our central purpose: reimagining how and where we experience the electronic music that we love.

mixerrr is about finding belonging through music.
we do this by creating unique shared experiences and giving back to each other unconditionally. we respect and proudly welcome everyone regardless of race, ethnicity, sexuality, gender, age, wealth, body size, mobility, or neurotype. every effort will be made to make the events as accessible as possible. enthusiastic consent is mandatory. and no racism, transphobia, homophobia, fatphobia, or ableism will be tolerated.

mixerrr prioritizes artistic diversity.
historically, women have been erased from electronic music despite being hugely influential and foundational to its development. to highlight the under-represented people shaping this scene, a major focus of this series is elevating artists who are women or other minorities.

mixerrr happens everywhere.
in fields and forests, tunnels and caves, houses and warehouses. we are paying homage to the deep and rich history of electronic music culture and returning to the underground parties that have been so important to black, brown, and queer marginalized communities since the 80’s.

mixerrr exists outside of the system.
it is not on social media and is spread via word of mouth and non-traditional channels. it is diy, by the community, for the community. to protect our privacy, safety, and anonymity: no photos or videos are allowed.

mixerrr takes place on ancestral territory.
mixerrr is held on the unceded homelands of the Shawnee, Wyandotte, Miami, Delaware, and Hopewell peoples. by throwing renegades on this land, we carry a deep responsibility to respect the earth and honor the people who cared for it long before us. we leave no trace and do our best to protect the ground we dance on.
